Red Velvet Butter Cookies Recipe (about 40–50 pcs)
Ingredients
250g unsalted butter (softened)
120g icing sugar (sifted)
1 egg yolk
1 tsp vanilla essence
250g plain flour (sifted)
50g cornflour
2 tbsp cocoa powder
1–2 tsp red food coloring (gel type for vibrant color)
1 tsp baking powder
Optional: white chocolate (melted) for drizzle
Method
1. Cream butter + icing sugar until fluffy.
2. Add egg yolk + vanilla, mix well.
3. Add red coloring and cocoa powder → mix evenly.
4. Sift flour + cornflour + baking powder, fold into the mixture until dough forms.
5. Roll into small balls or pipe using a star nozzle for flower shapes.
6. Bake at 160°C for 15–18 mins until set.
7. Cool completely.
8. Drizzle with melted white chocolate (optional) for contrast.
