Moist Chocolate Cake Recipe
Ingredients:
1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour
1 cup (200g) sugar
½ cup (50g) cocoa powder
1 tsp baking powder
½ tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
2 eggs (large)
½ cup (120ml) vegetable oil
½ cup (120ml) milk
½ cup (120ml) hot water (or hot coffee for richer taste)
1 tsp vanilla extract
Steps:
1. Preheat oven to 160°C. Grease and line an 8×8 inch pan.
2. In a bowl, sift together flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
3. In another bowl, whisk sugar, eggs, oil, milk, and vanilla until combined.
4. Add dry ingredients into wet, mix gently.
5. Slowly pour in hot water/coffee, mix until smooth (batter will be thin).
6. Pour into pan and bake for 50–65 minutes, until a skewer comes out clean.
7. Let cool, then frost with chocolate ganache or buttercream.
