Orange Cake Recipe (8-inch round pan)
Ingredients
250g unsalted butter (softened)
200g caster sugar
4 large eggs (room temperature)
250g self-raising flour (sifted)
80ml fresh orange juice
1 tbsp orange zest (grated)
1 tsp vanilla essence
Optional: icing sugar for dusting or orange glaze
Method
1. Preheat oven to 150°C. Grease and line an 8-inch round cake tin.
2. Beat butter + sugar until pale and fluffy.
3. Add eggs one by one, mixing well.
4. Fold in flour alternately with orange juice until smooth.
5. Add orange zest + vanilla, mix gently.
6. Pour batter into tin, level the top.
7. Bake 50 -60 minutes until golden and skewer comes out clean.
8. Cool, then dust with icing sugar or drizzle with glaze.
