Steak and Shrimp with Red Wine Shallot Sauce
This rich and flavorful red wine shallot sauce elevates any steak and shrimp dish to restaurant quality!
Sauce Ingredients:
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 shallots, finely chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 cup dry red wine (such as Cabernet Sauvignon or Merlot)
1 cup beef broth
2 tablespoons butter, cold and cut into cubes
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for a touch of heat)

Sauce Instructions:
Heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Add shallots and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
Add garlic and cook for 1 minute more, until fragrant.
Pour in red wine and bring to a simmer, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan. Cook until the wine has reduced by half, about 5-7 minutes.
Add beef broth and thyme. Simmer until the sauce has thickened slightly, about 8-10 minutes.
Reduce heat to low. Whisk in cold butter, one cube at a time, until the sauce is smooth and glossy. Do not boil.
Stir in parsley, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using).
Serve immediately over grilled or pan-seared steak and shrimp.
