Donut Recipe (about 15–18 pieces)

Ingredients
500g all-purpose flour
60g sugar
1 tsp salt
2 tsp instant yeast
250ml warm milk
1 egg
60g butter (softened)
Oil (for frying)

Method
1. In a bowl, mix warm milk + yeast + 1 tbsp sugar. Let sit 5–10 mins until foamy.
2. Add flour, remaining sugar, salt, egg, and butter. Knead until soft dough forms (about 10 mins by hand).
3. Cover and let dough rise for 1 hour (or until double in size).
4. Roll out dough to 1cm thickness. Cut with donut cutter (or cup + bottle cap).
5. Place donuts on tray, cover, and let rise 30 mins.
6. Heat oil on medium. Fry donuts until golden brown on each side (don’t overcrowd).
7. Drain excess oil. Coat in sugar or dip in chocolate glaze.
