Velvety cupcakes with a bloody raspberry surprise inside!
Ingredients (12 cupcakes)
• 1 batch red velvet cupcake batter (box or homemade)
• ½ cup raspberry jam (for filling)
• 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened
• ½ cup (115 g) butter, softened
• 2 cups (250 g) powdered sugar
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
1. Bake cupcakes: Prepare red velvet batter and divide into lined muffin tins. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 18–22 minutes, until toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely.
2. Prepare frosting: Beat cream cheese + butter until smooth. Slowly add powdered sugar and vanilla. Beat until fluffy. Chill until ready to pipe.
3. Add filling: Use a small knife or cupcake corer to remove the center of each cupcake. Fill the hole with raspberry jam. Replace top.
4. Frost: Pipe cream cheese frosting on top in swirls.
5. Bloody effect: Drizzle extra raspberry jam over the frosting so it drips down the sides like blood.
6. Finish: Optional – decorate with candy knives, eyeballs, or Halloween sprinkles for extra drama.
