Condensed Milk Bread Rolls
Ingredients
4 cups (500g) all-purpose flour
½ cup (120ml) condensed milk
2 ½ tsp (8g) instant yeast
1 cup (240ml) warm milk
1 large egg
¼ cup (60g) unsalted butter, softened
1 tsp salt
For brushing
2 tbsp condensed milk
1 tbsp melted butter
Instructions
In a large bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, and condensed milk, then mix until dissolved. Add the egg, softened butter, and salt, stirring well. Gradually add flour and knead into a soft dough. Knead for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled.
Punch down the dough and divide into equal portions (about 12–15 pieces). Shape into rolls and place in a greased or parchment-lined baking pan. Cover and let rise again for 30–40 minutes until puffy.
Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 20–25 minutes, or until golden brown.
While still warm, brush the tops with a mixture of condensed milk and melted butter for a glossy, slightly sweet finish.
