• 4 large eggs (at room temperature)
• 1 cup granulated sugar
• 1 cup all-purpose flour

Instructions
Step 1: Preheat and Prepare
• Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
• Grease and line an 8-inch (20 cm) round cake pan with parchment paper.
Step 2: Beat the Eggs and Sugar
• In a large bowl, beat the eggs using a hand mixer or stand mixer on high speed for about 5-7 minutes until pale, thick, and tripled in volume.
• Gradually add the sugar while beating, ensuring it dissolves completely.
Step 3: Add Vanilla
• Gently mix in the vanilla extract.
Step 4: Sift and Fold
• Sift the flour, baking powder, and salt together.
• Add the dry ingredients to the egg mixture in small batches, folding gently with a spatula using a figure-eight motion. This helps retain the airy texture.
Step 5: Incorporate Milk and Butter
• Combine the melted butter with the milk.
• Add a few tablespoons of the cake batter to this mixture to lighten it. Then gently fold this back into the main batter.
Step 6: Bake
• Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
• Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Step 7: Cool and Serve
• Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
