🥯 Chole Bhature Recipe (Punjabi Special)

Chole (Chickpeas Curry)

1. Soak & Boil

Soak 2 cups chickpeas overnight.

Pressure cook/boil until soft and tender.

2. Prepare Masala

Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan, add 1 tsp cumin seeds.

Sauté 2 chopped onions until golden.

Add 2 chopped tomatoes, cook until mushy.

Mix in 2 tbsp chole masala, salt, and a splash of water.

3. Cook Chole

Add boiled chickpeas.

Simmer on low flame until thick and flavorful.

Garnish with coriander, onion rings, and lemon wedges.

Bhature (Fried Bread)

1. Prepare Dough

In a bowl, mix 2 cups maida, ½ cup yogurt, 2 tbsp oil, and salt.

Knead into a soft dough. Cover and rest for 1 hour.

2. Shape & Fry

Roll small portions into discs.

Deep fry in hot oil until puffed and golden brown.

To Serve

Plate hot puffed bhature with spicy chole.

Add sides: onion rings, lemon wedges, salad, and pickle.
