Every fall, I make a huge pot of chili on football Sunday with a modern twist.
Ingredients:
1 lb lean ground beef
1 onion diced
2 cloves garlic minced
1 can black beans drained
1 can diced tomatoes
1 cup beef broth
1 tsp smoked paprika
1 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp cocoa powder
Salt and pepper
Methods:
Brown beef in a large pot, breaking it into crumbles.
Add onion and garlic, sauté until fragrant.
Stir in tomatoes, beans, broth, paprika, cumin, cocoa, salt, and pepper.
Simmer uncovered 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Serve steaming hot with cornbread or rice.
