Chocolate Layered Cake
Ingredients
All-purpose flour – 2 ½ cups (310g)
Cocoa powder – 1 cup (100g)
Baking powder – 2 tsp
Baking soda – 1 tsp
Salt – ½ tsp
Sugar – 2 cups (400g)
Eggs – 3 large
Vegetable oil – 1 cup (240ml)
Warm water – 1 ½ cups (360ml)
Vanilla extract – 2 tsp
Method
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line three 8-inch round pans.
In a bowl, sift together flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
In another bowl, whisk sugar, eggs, and oil until smooth. Stir in vanilla.
Gradually add dry ingredients, alternating with warm water, until you have a smooth batter.
Divide batter evenly among the three pans. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a skewer inserted comes out clean.
Cool in pans for 10 minutes, then turn out onto racks to cool completel
