Pumpkin Oreo Balls

Ingredients:
8 ounces cream cheese, softened to room temperature
34 Oreo cookies
12 ounces orange candy melts
17 pretzel sticks
8 Watermelon Airheads candies for leaves, optional

Directions:
Prepare the Baking Sheet:
1.1. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.

Make the Oreo Mixture:
2.1. Place the Oreo cookies in a food processor and blend until they turn into fine crumbs. If you don’t have a food processor, you can crush them in a bag with a rolling pin.
2.2. In a large bowl, combine the Oreo crumbs with the softened cream cheese. Mix well with a silicone spatula until fully combined. Avoid using a food processor for this step to keep the mixture from getting too runny.

Form the Truffles:
3.1. Roll the mixture into one tablespoon-sized balls. A small cookie scoop can help make them uniform in size.
3.2. Place the truffles on the prepared baking sheet and freeze them in the refrigerator for at least 20 minutes.

Shape the Truffles:
4.1. Use a toothpick to create indentations in the truffles to give them a pumpkin shape.
4.2. Put the truffles back in the freezer for another 10 minutes.

Prepare the Leaves:
5.1. Use clean kitchen scissors to cut small leaf shapes from the Airhead candies.

Melt the Candy Coating:
6.1. In a heatproof bowl, melt the orange candy melts in the microwave at half power. Stir every minute until you have a smooth orange chocolate sauce. Follow the package instructions for melting if needed.

Coat the Truffles:
7.1. Remove the truffles from the freezer. Dip each truffle into the orange candy melt one at a time, using a fork to let any excess chocolate drip off.
7.2. Place each coated truffle back on the parchment paper, making sure they don’t touch.

Add the Finishing Touches:
8.1. Press half of a pretzel stick into the top center of each truffle to create a pumpkin “stem.”
8.2. If using, press a leaf into the top of each stem. If the leaf doesn’t stick, use a toothpick and a little melted chocolate to attach it.

Chill and Serve:
9.1. Return the pumpkin truffles to the refrigerator for at least another 15 minutes to set.
9.2. Serve when ready and enjoy your delicious Pumpkin Oreo Balls!
