Ingredients:
- 1 cup (2 sticks) salted butter, room temperature
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 325°F (163°C).
2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
3. Gradually add the flour, mixing until the dough comes together and is smooth.
4. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and roll it out to about 1/2 inch thickness.
5. Cut into desired shapes using cookie cutters or a knife.
6. Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them about 1 inch apart.
7. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
8. Remove from the oven and allow to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
