Ingredients 225 gr OR 1 cup sugar 225 gr OR 1 cup butter/margarine 1 large egg 1 tbsp vanilla extract 1 tsp cinnamon 1/2 tsp nutmeg 1 tsp baking powder 400 gr OR 3 1/2c flour + 1/3 c for dusting Cocoa powder for spreading Almond shavings ( fingernails) Instructions
In a mixer, cream butter and sugar for 3 minutes until fluffy. Add egg, vanilla, nutmeg, baking powder, and cinnamon. Mix lightly. Add flour and mix until just combined. Dough should be sticky but not stick to your hands. Chill dough for 1 hour. Shape into fingers (smaller than your own), press an almond on each for the nail. Place cookies on parchment paper to prevent sticking. Preheat oven to 170°C / 325°F. Bake 7–12 minutes depending on size, until edges are just brown. Let cookies cool, then brush lightly with cocoa powder. Enjoy!
