Slithering Serpent Sandwich: A Spooky Halloween Delight
đ SPOOKY SUB SNAKE đ
Whoâs ready to make their party table hiss with excitement? This not-too-spooky treat is equal parts festive and delicious, slithering its way right into your Halloween spread. The best part? Itâs big enough to feed a crowdâwhether youâre hosting a haunted house hangout or wrangling trick-or-treaters before they head out into the night.
Ingredients (for 1 giant 3â6 foot snake):
⢠Square rolls, long sub rolls, or frozen bread dough (shaped into a winding âSâ with one end tapered like a tail and the other rounded like a snakeâs head)
⢠1â2 packages thin to medium-sliced turkey deli meat
⢠1â2 packages thin to medium-sliced Black Forest ham
⢠1â2 packages sliced provolone or mozzarella cheese
⢠Pepperoncini
⢠Bread & butter pickle chips or spears
⢠1 sub sandwich rosemary-based dressing
Instructions:
1. Shape your bread into a squiggly snakeâcurves and all. Taper the ends so one looks like a tail and the other a head.
2. Layer on turkey, ham, cheese, pepperoncini, and pickles.
3. Drizzle with your rosemary dressing for that herby bite.
4. Set it up on the table just before guests arrive for maximum spooky effect. Keep chilled until ready. Refrigerate leftovers (if your hungry ghouls leave any!).
đ Halloween Fact: Did you know the tradition of dressing in costumes on Halloween comes from the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain? People believed disguises would help them blend in with wandering spirits. So in a way, this âsnake in disguiseâ is carrying on tradition.
Now all thatâs left is to slice it up, grab a plate, and enjoy as your guests marvel at your sneaky serpent sandwich! đâ¨
