    This cake isn’t frosted, styled or polished — because it doesn’t need to be. It’s tender and full of fruit, with a slightly cracked top, uneven crumb, and golden edges that say “baked at home.” Slice it messy. Eat it warm. It’s comfort, not perfection.



    📝 Ingredients (makes 1 small loaf or round cake):
    • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
    • ½ cup sugar (or mix with brown sugar)
    • 2 eggs
    • ½ cup plain yogurt or sour cream
    • ⅓ cup neutral oil or melted butter
    • 1 tsp vanilla extract
    • 1 ½ tsp baking powder
    • ¼ tsp salt
    • 1 cup chopped fruit (apples, berries, plums, etc.)
    • Optional: powdered sugar for dusting



    🔥 Instructions:
    1. Preheat oven to 350°F / 175°C. Grease a loaf or round cake pan.
    2. Mix wet ingredients:
    Whisk eggs, sugar, yogurt, oil, and vanilla until smooth.
    3. Add dry ingredients:
    Sift in flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir until just combined. Gently fold in the chopped fruit.
    4. Bake:
    Pour into the pan and bake for 40–50 minutes, or until golden with a cracked top and toothpick comes out clean.
    5. Cool & dust:
    Let cool slightly. Slice rough. Dust with powdered sugar if you like. Serve with fingers or fork — it doesn’t matter.
