1 lb boneless skinless chicken breasts (sliced or diced)
1 cup orzo pasta
4 slices bacon, chopped
1 tbsp olive oil
1 cup chicken broth
1 cup milk or half-and-half
1/2 cup ranch dressing
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 tsp garlic powder
Salt & pepper to taste
2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
Directions 👩🍳:
Cook Bacon: In a large skillet, cook chopped bacon until crispy. Remove and set aside, reserving 1 tbsp of the bacon grease.
Sear Chicken: Add olive oil to the skillet with bacon drippings. Season chicken with salt and pepper, then cook until golden and fully done. Set aside.
Toast Orzo: In the same skillet, add orzo and toast for 2 minutes. Add chicken broth and milk; bring to a boil.
Simmer: Reduce heat and cook uncovered for 8–10 minutes, stirring often until orzo is tender and liquid is absorbed.
Mix In Flavor: Stir in ranch dressing, cheddar, Parmesan, garlic powder, cooked bacon, and chicken. Simmer until creamy and heated through.
Serve & Garnish: Top with green onions and enjoy warm.
