RECIPE 📌📌 synfree If using cheese as half an a choice
Recipe - serves 4
500g 5% mince
1 onion, diced
2 carrots diced
3 garlic cloves, minced
200g chestnut mushrooms,
sliced
2 tablespoons tomato purée
3 tsp Marmite
2 tbs balsamic
vinegar
450ml beef stock
Xantham gum to thicken (or syn corn flour)
6 large potatoes, peeled and cubed
Egg yolk
80g reduced fat cheddar (2 a choices)
Boil the potatoes, drain and replace the lid to steam/ dry out a little. Then mash with the egg yolk and salt & pepper
Meanwhile, Fry the onion, garlic, mushrooms and veg until it has softened. Add the mince and fry until browned
Add the tomato purée, Marmite and balsamic vinegar and stir
until coated. Then pour in
the stock.
Sprinkle in a level tsp of xantham gum and simmer for 15-20 minutes until the gravy is thickened.
Transfer to a baking dish and top with the mash and the grated cheese
Bake in the oven for 30-35 mins until the top begins to crisp
