Vegan BBQ Glazed Cauliflower Wings 🌶️

Recipe:
Ingredients:
- 1 large head of cauliflower, cut into florets
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon nutritional yeast
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 2 teaspoons onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 1/2 cups plant-based milk
- Vegetable oil for frying
For the BBQ Glaze:
- 1 cup your favorite barbecue sauce
- 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- 1 tablespoon dark soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon liquid smoke
- 1 teaspoon hot sauce (optional)
For garnish:
- Toasted sesame seeds
- Finely sliced Spring onions
Method:
1. Heat a generous amount of vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 375°F (190°C).
2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, cornstarch, nutritional yeast, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper.
3. Gradually whisk in the plant-based milk until a thick batter forms.
4. Toss cauliflower florets in the batter until fully coated.
5. Carefully place the battered florets into the hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy, about 4-5 minutes.
6. While the florets are frying, mix the barbecue sauce, apple cider vinegar, dark soy sauce, liquid smoke, and hot sauce in a bowl.
7. Once fried, transfer the cauliflower to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
8. Toss the fried cauliflower in the BBQ glaze until well coated.
9. Serve the wings garnished with a sprinkle of toasted sesame seeds and scallions.
