π Ingredients:
For Filling
White bread slices β 8
Boiled chicken (shredded) or boiled potato (mashed) β 1 cup (120 g)
Onion (finely chopped) β 2 tbsp (20 g)
Green chili (optional) β 1 tsp (5 g)
Salt β Β½ tsp (3 g)
Black pepper β Β½ tsp (2 g)
Red chili flakes β Β½ tsp (2 g)
Cumin powder β Β½ tsp (2 g)
Garam masala β ΒΌ tsp (1 g)
Fresh coriander (chopped) β 2 tbsp (10 g)
For Sealing
Cornstarch β 1 tbsp (8 g)
Water β 2 tbsp
For Coating
Egg β 1 large (beaten)
Breadcrumbs β 1 cup (50 g)
For Frying
Oil β for deep or shallow frying
π©βπ³ Method (Step-by-Step)
Prepare Filling
Mix chicken/potato with onion, garlic, spices & coriander. Set aside.
Prepare Bread
Trim edges of bread slices and flatten gently using a rolling pin.
Fill & Roll
Place 1β2 tbsp filling on each bread slice.
Roll tightly like a cylinder.
Seal
Mix cornstarch + water to make a paste.
Seal edges properly so rolls donβt open while frying.
Coating
Dip each roll in beaten egg, then coat well with breadcrumbs.
Fry
Fry on medium heat until golden brown and crispy from all sides.
(Air fryer: Brush lightly with oil & cook at 180Β°C for 10β12 minutes)
Serve
Serve hot at iftar with ketchup, mint chutney or garlic dip π
βοΈ Freezing Instructions (Make-Ahead)
βοΈ After breadcrumb coating, place rolls on a tray
βοΈ Freeze for 1β2 hours until firm
βοΈ Transfer to zip-lock bag or airtight box
βοΈ Can be frozen up to 2 weeks
βοΈ Fry directly from freezer (no thawing)
