Golden Fennel Twist Naan with Sesame Shine

    Nothing beats the Aroma and taste of freshly baked bread Especially if it Homemade
    Naan being a Specialty ..especially for Ramadaan and celebration meals
    Or just to dunk ..buttered..heres my take

    Step 1
    6 level cups of sifted cake flour
    1/3 cup of milk powder..klim or nespray..nido
    3 level tsp fine salt
    1 tblsp fennel seeds..saumph
    Put into a deep bowl or dish..set aside

    Step 2
    1 + 1/4 cup of warm water..not hot.pls
    1/3 cup of sugar
    50 g of soft butter
    Mix well till sugar and butter dissolve

    Add in the 1 pkt of yeast..i prefer the purple pkt
    Set aside and wait for the yeast to activate
    Beat 1 egg
    Measure out 1 + 1/4 cup of Buttermilk
    U can use milk only if u want

    Wen the yeast mixture is foamy
    Add in the egg and buttermilk
    Mix lightly and quickly add to the dry ingredients to make a soft dough
    Work the dough with ur fingers
    Add flour lightly to get the texture right
    Remove from bowl onto floured surface
    Knead for a few minutes
    U can drizzle oil or butter on the surface

    Now put the dough back into the bowl
    Cover with a lid
    Cover with a big cloth and set in warm place to rise..at least 1 hour or more

    Twist breads
    Punch fown the risen dough
    For twist bread make 3 equal sized portions
    From a full recipe ul get 3 twist bread
    Roll them out long..equal sizes
    Pinch the tops together then plait it
    Leave the plait lose ..not tight plait
    Giv it room to rise
    Pinch the bottom tips well
    Brush with egg
    Sprinkle poppy seeds and sesame seeds
    Needs extra time to rise
    Pre heat oven to 180 deg
    Bake till golden..dont rush it ..turn the tray in oven to get even colour
    Brush ghee over to get a shine
    Cover with a cloth

    Mini or large Naans
    Wen dough is ready punch it down gently
    Spray ur trays
    Make round naan ..sizes u want
    Leave to rise
    Brush egg and poppy seeds
    and bake in pre heated oven 180 deg
    Till golden brown
    Remove..brush ghee and cover with a cloth
