Simple Bread Gulab Jamun Recipe.
Ingredients:
Bread slices – 6 to 8 (white or brown, edges removed)
Milk – ½ cup (adjust as needed)
Sugar – 1 cup
Water – 1 cup
Cardamom powder – ¼ tsp
Rose water – ½ tsp (optional)
Ghee or oil – for frying
Method:
For Sugar Syrup:
1. In a pan, add sugar and water.
2. Boil until sugar dissolves completely.
3. Add cardamom powder and rose water. Keep warm.
For Gulab Jamun Balls:
1. Cut off edges of bread slices.
2. Soak them lightly in milk, then squeeze out excess.
3. Knead into a smooth, soft dough (it should not be sticky).
4. Make small crack-free balls.
Frying & Soaking:
1. Heat ghee/oil on medium-low flame.
2. Fry bread balls until golden brown, stirring gently for even cooking.
3. Remove and place them directly into warm sugar syrup.
4. Let them soak for at least 1–2 hours before serving.
Serving:
Serve warm or chilled, garnished with chopped nuts like almonds or pistachios.
