cheddar + chive biscuits!!
These savory biscuits are fluffy and flaky, and the perfect snack, breakfast, or side dish. we made a batch of 20 and they were gone in a day! We used @cozycraving ’s recipe:)
ingredients:
* 2.5 cups flour
* 1.5 tbsp baking powder
* 1 tsp salt
* 1/2 cup unsalted butter, grated
* 1 cup buttermilk (we used milk with white vinegar)
* 2 tsp honey
* 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese grated
* 1/4 cup fresh chives chopped
* 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted to brush on top
1. Preheat oven to 425
2. Mix flour, baking powder, and salt.
3. gently mix in butter until combined, gently - you don’t want huge butter clumps, you want it to stay relatively grated in size.
4. gently mix in the cheddar and chives until combined.
5. In a measuring cup or small bowl, mix honey and buttermilk.
6. Add buttermilk honey mixture into flour mixture. Gently stir until it just starts to come together. Then pour it out onto a floured surface.
7. Carefully work mixture together with your hands until a dough forms. It’ll be a bit sticky, but if it seems overly sticky then sprinkle some more flour on. Flatten it out to about 1” and then fold the sides into each other. Flatten it out again and fold the sides over once more. Then do a final flattening to 1” thick.
8. Using your biscuit cutter (we used a metal cup),cut biscuits. We were able to make about 20. Transfer to baking sheet, brush with butter, and bake at 425℉ for 20-25 minutes until golden
