Savory Sausage Rolls with a Sweet and Spicy Twist
Ingredients:
1 package (1 lb) sausage (pork or chicken)
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1/2 cup pepper jelly
1 package (1 lb) puff pastry (2 sheets), thawed
1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Directions:
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a large bowl, combine the sausage, shredded cheddar cheese, pepper jelly, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.

On a lightly floured surface, roll out one sheet of puff pastry to about 1/8 inch thick. Cut the pastry into rectangles, approximately 3 inches by 4 inches.

Place a tablespoon of the sausage mixture in the center of each rectangle. Fold the pastry over to create a pocket and press the edges to seal. Use a fork to crimp the edges for a decorative touch.

Repeat the process with the second sheet of puff pastry and the remaining sausage mixture.

Place the filled sausage rolls on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops with the beaten egg to give them a golden color when baked.

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed and golden brown.
Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.

Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
