5-Ingredient Cherry Tarts

Ingredients:

1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed

1/2 cup cherry jam or pie filling

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

1 tbsp icing sugar, for dusting

6 fresh cherries, pitted and halved (optional, for garnish)

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 200°C (390°F) and line a baking tray with baking paper.

Cut pastry into 6 even squares and place them on the prepared tray.

Use a knife to lightly score a border 1cm from the edge of each square (don’t cut all the way through).

Spoon a little cherry jam or filling into the center of each square, spreading it within the border.

Brush the borders with egg wash.

Bake for 15–18 minutes, or until golden and puffed.

Let cool slightly, then dust with icing sugar and top with fresh cherry halves if using. Serve warm or at room temperature.
