Sourdough Starter Instructions ⬇️
Ingredients:
-1/2 cup (60g) whole wheat or all-purpose flour
-1/4 cup (60ml) filtered or dechlorinated water
Instructions:
Days 1-2:
-In a clean glass jar, mix 1/2 cup flour and 1/4 cup filtered water until smooth.
-Cover loosely with a cloth or lid to allow airflow.
-Let it sit at room temperature.
-Repeat this feeding process once per day without discarding.
Days 3-7:
-Discard half of the starter (about 1/2 cup) before feeding.
-Feed with 1/2 cup flour and 1/4 cup water once daily.
-Stir well, cover loosely, and let it sit.
Day 7, the starter should be bubbly, slightly tangy, and doubling in size within 4-6 hours after feeding. At this point, it’s ready for baking!
