Luxurious Orange Pistachio Swirl Cake

Ingredients
For the Cake Layers:
1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
½ tsp baking soda
¼ tsp salt
½ cup unsalted butter, softened
¾ cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
Zest of 1 large orange
2 tbsp fresh orange juice
½ cup plain Greek yogurt
½ cup whole milk
½ cup ground pistachios (unsalted)
¼ tsp almond extract (optional)
Green gel food coloring (optional, for swirl effect)
For the Frosting:
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
250g cream cheese
3 cups powdered sugar
1 tbsp orange zest
1 tbsp heavy cream or milk
Pinch of salt
For the White Chocolate Drip:
¾ cup white chocolate chips
¼ cup heavy cream
For Garnish:
Chopped roasted pistachios
Candied orange peel
Edible gold flakes (optional)
Instructions
Bake the Cake Layers
Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F). Prepare three 6-inch round cake pans by lining and greasing them.
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
In a separate bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Incorporate the eggs one at a time, followed by the orange zest, juice, and almond extract.
Gradually alternate adding the dry ingredients and the milk/yogurt mixture, mixing until just combined.
Divide the batter in half — gently fold the ground pistachios and food coloring into one half.
Spoon both batters into the prepared pans, creating a gentle swirl.
Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow to cool completely.
Make the Frosting
In a mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and cream cheese until smooth and creamy. Gradually incorporate the powdered sugar.
Stir in the orange zest, heavy cream, and a pinch of salt. Beat until the mixture is light and fluffy.
Stack & Frost
Position the first cake layer on a serving board and spread a generous layer of frosting on top.
Repeat this process with the remaining layers
