Luscious Purple Velvet Cake Delight

    INGREDIENTS
    • 2½ cups All Purpose flour
    • 1 1/2 cups sugar
    • 1 cup buttermilk
    • 2 tsp baking powder
    • 1 tsp baking soda
    • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
    • 4 eggs
    • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
    • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
    • 1/2 tsp salt
    • 1 tbsp purple gel food coloring (or enough to achieve the desired💜 colour)

    PREPARATION
    Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
    In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
    Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla and purple food coloring.
    In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
    Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet, alternating with the buttermilk.
    Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans and smooth the tops.
    Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
    Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely. Enjoy😋
