Crispy Fish Tacos with Cilantro Lime Slaw
Fresh, crunchy, creamy, and zesty—these fish tacos bring bold flavor to every bite!
Ingredients (Serves 4)
For the Fish:
1 lb white fish fillets (like tilapia or cod)
½ tsp garlic powder
½ tsp black pepper
¾ cup cold sparkling water
½ tsp salt
½ cup cornstarch
½ cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp paprika
Vegetable oil, for frying
For the Cilantro Lime Slaw:
2 cups shredded green cabbage
¼ cup chopped fresh cilantro
2 tbsp mayonnaise
Juice of 1 lime
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 cup shredded purple cabbage
1 tbsp honey
For the Sauce:
½ cup sour cream
¼ tsp cumin
2 tbsp mayonnaise
½ tsp garlic powder
1 tbsp lime juice
Salt, to taste
To Serve:
8 small corn or flour tortillas
Lime wedges
Extra chopped cilantro
Optional: avocado slices, pickled red onions, hot sauce
Instructions
Make the Slaw
Combine green and purple cabbage, cilantro, lime juice, mayo, honey, salt, and pepper. Chill.
Mix the Sauce
Whisk together sour cream, mayo, lime juice, garlic powder, cumin, and salt until smooth.
Prepare the Fish Batter
In a bowl, mix flour, cornstarch, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Whisk in sparkling water until smooth.
Fry the Fish
Heat oil in a deep pan. Dip fish pieces in batter and fry until golden and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
Assemble Tacos
Warm tortillas. Add slaw, crispy fish, sauce, and any optional toppings.
Serve
