Maple Bliss Cookies with Velvety Brown Butter Icing

  • Soft Maple Cookies with Brown Butter Icing

    Ingredients (Cookies)
    • 113g butter, softened
    • 100g light brown sugar
    • 50g white sugar
    • 1 egg
    • 80ml pure maple syrup
    • 1 tsp vanilla
    • ½ tsp maple extract (optional)
    • 280g flour
    • 1 tsp cornstarch
    • 1 tsp baking soda
    • ½ tsp salt

    Ingredients (Brown Butter Icing)
    • 57g butter
    • 180g powdered sugar
    • 2 tbsp maple syrup
    • 1–2 tbsp milk



    Method (Quick & Simple)
    1. Cream butter + both sugars.
    2. Mix in egg, maple syrup, vanilla, maple extract.
    3. Add dry: flour, cornstarch, baking soda, salt. Mix just until combined.
    4. Chill dough 1 hour.
    5. Bake at 175°C / 350°F for 10–12 min. Cool fully.

    Icing
    6. Brown butter in a pan until golden + nutty.
    7. Whisk browned butter + powdered sugar + maple syrup + milk (adjust thickness).
    8. Dip or spread over cooled cookies. Let set.
