Silky Lebanese Tahini Sauce with Fresh Herbs
Tahini Sauce (Lebanese)π±π§π±π§π±π§π±π§π±π§
Ingredients:
β’ 1/2 cup tahini paste
β’ 3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
β’ 2 cloves garlic, minced
β’ 1/4 cup cold water (more as needed)
β’ 1/2 teaspoon salt
β’ 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
β’ 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
β’ 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
β’ Pinch of paprika for garnish
Preparation:
1. In a medium bowl, whisk together tahini and lemon juice. The mixture will thicken and seize.
2. Add minced garlic and salt, whisking to combine.
3. Gradually whisk in cold water, 1 tablespoon at a time, until the sauce reaches your desired consistency. It should be smooth and pourable but not watery.
4. Stir in ground cumin and chopped parsley.
5. Transfer to a serving bowl, drizzle with olive oil, and sprinkle with paprika.
6. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. May thicken when chilled; thin with additional water if necessary.
