Festive Green Meringue Wreath with Berries
Christmas Wreath
Ingredients
4 large egg whites, room temp
1 cup granulated sugar
1/4 tsp cream of tartar
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Green gel food coloring
Topping
1 cup heavy cream
2 tbsp powdered sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla
Fresh red currants or cranberries
Mini rosemary sprigs (for garnish)
Edible pearls or red sprinkles (optional)
Directions
Preheat oven to 200°F (95°C). Line baking sheet with parchment.
Beat egg whites with cream of tartar until soft peaks form.
Gradually add sugar, beating to stiff glossy peaks.
Mix in vanilla and a few drops of green gel color.
Transfer to piping bag fitted with large star tip.
Pipe ring shapes onto baking sheet, leaving a hole in the center.
Bake for 1.5 hours, then turn off oven and let sit 1 hour to dry.
Whip cream with sugar and vanilla until soft peaks.
Pipe whipped cream over cooled meringues.
Garnish with berries, rosemary, and sprinkles — serve fresh!
