Pear and Gorgonzola Cheese on Toasted Walnut Bread

Ingredients:
Produce
• 3 Pears, ripe
• 1 leaves pinch Thyme, fresh
Condiments
• 2 tbsp Honey
Baking & Spices
• 1 Black pepper, Freshly ground
• 1 pinch Sea salt
Oils & Vinegars
• 2 tbsp Olive oil, extra virgin
Nuts & Seeds
• 3/4 cup Walnuts
Bread & Baked Goods
• 6 slices Walnut bread
Dairy
• 5 oz Gorgonzola cheese

Instructions:
1. Toast the Walnuts:
o Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
o Spread the walnuts on a baking sheet and toast them in the oven for 5-7 minutes, or until they are fragrant and lightly browned. Let them cool, then chop coarsely.
2. Prepare the Pears:
o Slice the pears thinly, removing the core and seeds.
3. Toast the Walnut Bread:
o Brush the slices of walnut bread with extra virgin olive oil on both sides.
o In a large skillet or grill pan over medium heat, toast the bread slices until golden and crisp on both sides, about 2-3 minutes per side.
4. Assemble the Toast:
o Spread a generous amount of Gorgonzola cheese on each slice of toasted walnut bread.
o Arrange the pear slices on top of the cheese.
5. Finish with Toppings:
o Drizzle each toast with honey.
o Sprinkle with the toasted walnuts, fresh thyme leaves, a pinch of sea salt, and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
